The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma celebrates its tribal history and heritage with two days of artist demonstrations and hands-on activities for children at the National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, D.C. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet and greet Choctaw princesses and other featured guests Friday & Saturday from 10am-5pm.

Friday-

Movie Nights in the Heights- Minions
(Harriet Tubman Elementary School)
This is the final installment of our June series of “Movie Nights in the Heights”. The gates open at 5:30pm. We will have games and activities for guests to enjoy together before the movie from 6pm to 7:30pm. Feel free to bring a picnic. The movie will begin at sundown. We’ll be screening Minions. Come and join us for a night of fun!

Four Mile Summer Movie Festival at Four Mile Conservatory Building- The Goonies
(4109 Mt Vernon Ave, Alexandria, VA 22305)
Movies begin at dusk (around 8:00) and have Spanish subtitles, bring  blanket or chair. Admission is free, so is popcorn and drinks. Presented by National Community Church.

Saturday-

10:00am-5:00pm: Family Day with Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants! at National Postal Museum
(2 Massachusetts Ave., N.E. Washington, DC 20002)
Come join in the adventures of the world’s most lovable sponge and his friends. See the museum transformed into Bikini Bottom and participate in nautical-themed activities, such as games, sand castle building and much more – including a chance to meet SpongeBob SquarePants! Visitors can document their exciting day by sending a limited-edition SpongeBob postcard or posing for pictures in a Bikini Bottom photo booth.  All ages welcome. Free; no registration required.

10:30am: Josh and the Jamtones at Wolf Trap Children’s Theatre-in-the-Woods
(1551 Trap Road Vienna, VA 22182)
Rocksteady” with Josh and the Jamtones in this interactive, ultra-powered dance party. Featuring stadium rock choruses and a cappella sing-a-longs, this band is guaranteed to get any crowd moving their bodies and laughing out loud regardless of age, height, or shoe size! $10 tickets.

11:00am-2:00pm: Milling Life at Pierce Mill
(Rock Creek Park at the intersection of Beach Drive and Tilden Street, NW)
Visitors are invited to watch the miller fill the hopper with hard corn, separate the mill stones, and release the water over the waterwheel to engage this 1820s wooden machine. A family tour is scheduled at 10:30 a.m. with Sarah Bohl as she interprets milling life, the mysteries of the water mill, and the role children played in milling life. The tour will end just in time for the first grinding of the corn. Free!

12:00pm-6:00pm: Vine on the Waterfront
(Oronoco Bay Park, Alexandria VA 22314)
The festival is a community-based event featuring tastes of local foods and wine, as well as artisans, a Children’s Corner, and live entertainment. The event transforms Oronoco Bay Park into a lively festival. Free to attend, must purchase tickets to sample food and drink.

2:00pm: Robert Post Comedy Theatre for Kids at The Kennedy Center
(2700 F St NW, Washington, DC)
Robert Post’s one-man variety show serves up a delightful entertainment feast. Hilarious, poignant, and physically dazzling, his meticulously crafted sketches fill the stage with bumblers, dreamers, and cartoonish heroes of every stripe.$20 tickets

Sunday-

11:30am-3:00pm: Babe Ruth Baseball Family Day at National Portrait Gallery
(Kogod Courtyard)
Celebrate America’s pastime and one of its greatest heroes. View the new exhibition “One Life: Babe Ruth” and enjoy games, crafts and music.

2:05pm: Bowie Baysox Baseball Game
(4101 Crain Highway Bowie, MD 20716)
A few promotions happening today, come out ad root for the home team! Not a bad (or expensive) seat in the stadium, plenty of things for kids to do. Also, join the Kids Club for special events and offers.

Nothing says summer like an evening under the stars—and there’s no better way to enjoy the season than Movies on the Potomac at National Harbor. Pack your picnic blankets, grab food to go from one of our delicious dining establishments, and meet us at the Plaza’s big screen for a FREE evening of fun for all ages! Please note that movies will begin at 6:00pm and will be shown once, so end times may vary with each movie.
