My Journey: From Local Exploration to Global Adventure

My adventure in helping families discover new experiences began in the heart of Washington, DC. As a first-time mom, I found myself constantly searching for exciting activities to do with my son in our vibrant city. What started as a simple weekly email of local events for my mothers’ group evolved into something much bigger.

The Birth of Beltway Bambinos

Recognizing that other parents were facing the same challenge—finding enriching activities that would keep both children entertained and parents sane—I launched Beltway Bambinos. This blog became a centralized resource for DC-area families looking to explore the infinite opportunities our city offers.

For over eleven years, I dedicated myself to researching activities, events, and hidden gems throughout the DC metropolitan area. I believed then, as I do now, that getting out of the house and exploring what our community has to offer helps further our knowledge and education while creating meaningful family experiences.

From Local Explorer to Global Travel Advisor

My personal love for travel began in the Midwest, where family vacations meant summer trips to the Lake of the Ozarks or occasional long drives to Disney World. These early experiences sparked a passion that grew as I ventured further across the United States, Europe, the Caribbean, and Mexico.

Among all the remarkable places I’ve visited, a trip to Hawaii with my family holds a special place in my heart. These experiences—both near and far—showed me the transformative power of travel and exploration.

Today, I’m excited to have expanded my scope from local discovery to worldwide adventures as the founder of Beltway Travel and a travel advisor for Mango Tree Travel. I now bring the same dedication to creating enriching, memorable experiences to planning international travel opportunities for families and individuals alike.

My Mission

Whether I’m helping you discover hidden treasures in your own backyard or planning your dream vacation halfway around the world, my mission remains constant: helping others discover the joy of exploration while removing the stress and overwhelm from the planning process.

I believe that travel and new experiences enrich our lives, broaden our perspectives, and create connections that last a lifetime. But I also understand that planning these experiences—especially with family in tow—can be daunting. That’s where I come in. My background as both a local guide and a world traveler gives me a unique perspective on creating experiences that are both meaningful and practical for families. I handle the research, logistics, and details so you can focus on the excitement of your upcoming adventure and the memories you’ll create together.

Beyond Travel

When I’m not planning adventures or exploring new destinations, you’ll find me at home in Washington, DC, with my husband, two children, and our golden retriever, Birdie. I’m an avid restaurant explorer, always eager to try new cuisines and dining experiences. I enjoy playing pickleball and doing pilates, diving into a good book, and spending time with friends and family.

I’d love to help you discover your next adventure—whether it’s around the corner or across the globe!
