Ladybug release at the National Museum of the American Indian
August 9, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 10:30 am
Ladybugs are beneficial insects—they help control aphids and act as a natural pesticide for plants in place of chemicals. Children and adults are invited to the release of ladybugs into the museum’s field of corn, squash and beans. About 9,000 ladybugs will be released by Smithsonian horticulturists and entomologists throughout the summer which will provide a natural form of pest control.
