Easter egg hunts and festive events in and around Washington, DC

March 30, 2022

April 1- April 16 : Great Country Farms Egg Hunt & Marshmallow Harvest
(18780 Foggy Bottom Road, Bluemont, VA 20135)
After a long cold winter, nothing chases away the chill like a visit to the farm!  The Easter Bunny has hidden some eggs  filled with treats to enchant the children. Be sure to get advance tickets as the Egg Hunts sell out every year! Come see spring chicks and baby animals, take a wagon ride, and rejoice that it is spring! The annual Easter Egg Hunt is a $7.50 add-on per child with your paid farm admission.

April 2, 3, 9, 10, 14-17: Easter Egg Hunt at Green Meadows Petting Farm
(10102 Fingerboard Rd. Ijamsville, MD 21754)
There will be three weekends of Easter egg hunts! No pre-registration is available. Purchase your admission to the farm/hunts when you arrive.  Hunts will be happening all day, between 10:30am and 3:30pm. Egg hunt areas are sectioned off according to ages 1-3 & 4-12.

April 9, 10, 14, 15, 16, 18, 23, 24 Closed April 17 from 9:00am-6:00pm: Bunnyland at Butler’s Orchard

Enjoy a hayride down the Bunny Trail, race the Rubber Duck Derby, hunt for colorful eggs, exchange eggs for a goodie basket to take home, visit with the farm’s very own Country Bunny, ride pedal tractors, play in Hayromp and Playground, hop in inflatables, ride the giant slides, see bunnies, lambs and chicks, get your face painted and ride a pony.

April 9-18 (various times): Egg Hunt at Clark’s Elioak Farm
(10500 Clarksville Pike, Ellicott City, MD 21042)
Children of different ages (ages 1 to 3 and 4 to 6) will have a chance to hunt for eggs all day (10 AM, 10:30, 11 AM, 11:30, 12 noon, 12:30, 1 PM, 1:30, 2 PM, 2:30, 3 PM, 3:30, 4 PM, 4:30 and 5 PM) on both Saturday and Sunday April 9-10 and 16-17. On weekdays the hunts will be at 10:30, 11:30, 12:30, 2:30 and 3:30. Our $8 per person admission fee for the farm applies, but there is no extra charge for the egg hunt. The petting farm, rides and play areas are open for you to enjoy. When you are ready to participate in the egg hunt, come to the Egg Hunt area and your child will line up with other children and pick up eggs. The eggs will then be turned in for a goodie bag. The first egg hunt each time will be for the 1-3 year olds. Once they are finished and while they are turning in their eggs for the goodie bags, the 4-6 year olds start their egg hunt.

April 9 from 10:00am-12:00pm: Eggstravaganza! at Tudor Place

Eggstravaganza! is back. Join this spring tradition of the classic Easter egg hunt and egg roll on the South Lawn.  Make crafts and take a picture with the Easter Bunny.  What to bring: each child must bring a basket, hard-boiled egg and spoon to participate. The egg hunt begins at 10:30AM and the egg roll begins at 10:45AM. This is an in-person program and will take place rain or shine. Dress accordingly. 

April 9 from 11:00am-2:00pm: Eggstravaganza at The St. James Sports Complex
(6805 Industrial Rd, Springfield, VA 22151)
Celebrate the Easter season! Fun for the whole family with games and prizes. 

April 15 from 10:00am-12:00pm: Eggstravaganza! at Tudor Place
(1644 31st St NW, Washington, DC 20007)
Eggstravaganza! is back. Join this spring tradition of the classic Easter egg hunt and egg roll on the South Lawn.  Make crafts and take a picture with the Easter Bunny.  What to bring: each child must bring a basket, hard-boiled egg and spoon to participate. The egg hunt begins at 10:30AM and the egg roll begins at 10:45AM. This is an in-person program and will take place rain or shine. Dress accordingly. 

April 16 & 17 (various times): The Lee-Fendall House Annual Easter Egg Hunt

Find Easter eggs hidden in the Lee-Fendall garden during our popular annual egg hunt! Sessions also include crafts, games, and a visit from the Easter Bunny. Sessions are offered on Saturday, April 16 at 10:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 12:00 PM, 1:00 PM, 2:00 PM, and 3:00 PM and on Sunday, April 17 at 12:00 PM, 1:00 PM, 2:00 PM, and 3:00 PM. Attendance is limited and reservations MUST be made in advance. Tickets are $15 per participating child age 2-12. Accompanying adults are $5 each and infants under 2 are free. Face masks are recommended. Bring your own basket.

Join the Friends of Stead Park for the Annual Egg Hunt at Stead Park for 3 hunts. There will be games, crafts, egg hunt and snacks. The event is free with timed entries for safety. Advance registration is recommended- Register here.

April 16 from 12:00pm-3:00pm: Eggstravaganza at Lincoln Park
(East Capitol between 11th and 13th in Washington, DC)

Easter, eggs and hunts in and around Washington, DC

Whether it be a festival, farm or egg hunt, your Bambinos will have a blast and maybe even get to experience more than one of these eggcellent events. Options begin March 30, 2019 and run through the end of April. Happy hunting and brunching!


All weekends March 30-April 28 from 9:30am to 5:00pm: Ticonderoga Farms Spring Easter Festival
(26469 Ticonderoga Rd, Chantilly, VA 20152)

Ticonderoga Farm’s Bunny will be joining everyone at the farm. Hopping around and posing for picture opportunities during our weekend hours and playing with our favorite friend Chickadee. Together hiding eggs for all the children to enjoy finding, especially the golden eggs that provide extra fun prizes for those who find them. Egg hunts will be held at 10:00am, 12:00pm and 2:00pm (arrive 30 minutes prior) in four age groups. There are many other activities included with your admission to enjoy, including: giant slide hills, huge jumping pillows, hayrides, animal feeding areas, pedal kart track, swinging bridge, and much more!

April 6 & 7: Great Country Farms Egg Hunt & Marshmallow Harvest

Do marshmallow peeps really grow on trees? Your children will be amazed to harvest a few marshmallows to roast on the bonfire with Farmer Bob. The Easter Bunny also hid some eggs, and we need you to help us find them! There will be multiple egg hunts each day this year, with over 20,000 eggs filled with treats to enchant your children spread across 4 hunts/day filled with treats to enchant your children.. Come see our spring chicks and baby animals, take a wagon ride, and rejoice that it is spring!

April 6 from 10:00am-5:00pm: Febergé Egg Family Festival at Hillwood Estate & Garden
(4155 Linnean Avenue, NW Washington, DC 20008)

Admire the exquisite imperial eggs and other fanciful Fabergé creations collected by Marjorie Post. Experience festive folk music performed by Samovar Russian Folk Music Ensemble and spirited dancing by Kalinka Dance Ensemble. Enjoy stories of Russian Easter traditions in a fun family play, produced by Happenstance Theater. Take part in a traditional Russian egg-rolling game. Step into Fabergé’s Workshop to decorate your own Fabergé-inspired egg.

April 13: Easter Eggstravaganza

The Easter Eggstravaganza is one of the most *EGGciting* Easter events in the area, this is a time for kids and families to come out and enjoy a fun-filled FREE event. There will be an Easter bunny, Easter Egg hunt, face painting, balloon animals, concessions, music, a moon bounce, games and much more! Come out and enjoy the festivities with us!

April 13 from 11:00am-3:00pm: Arlandria Eggstravaganza
(4131 Mt Vernon Ave, Alexandria, VA 22305)
Over 10,000 eggs to find. With separate egg hunts for tots, elementary-aged children, and teens/adults, everyone can have a great time.From music and demostrations to games and crafts, there is a lot to do and see at the Arlandria Eggstravaganza. While you are there, make sure to take the time to eat lunch or grab some of your favorite carnival food.

April 13 from 12:00pm-2:00pm: Easter Bash at Ballston Quarter
Celebrate Easter with Ballston Quarter and enjoy a family-friendly afternoon of games and activities! Join the fun by searching through Ballston Quarter for Easter eggs filled with prizes and exclusive giveaways. Kids can enjoy creating bunny-ear arts and crafts and take pictures in our photo booth. The Easter Bunny himself will make an appearance for pictures and a bunny-hop disco dance party will have guests young and old boogieing to all of their favorite hits!

April 13, 14, 18-20 & 22 from 10:00am-5:00pm: Bunnyland at Butler’s Orchard

April 13-14 & 18-21: Easter Egg Hunt at Green Meadows Petting Farm

Green Meadows Petting Farm will be hosting Easter Egg Hunts at the farm on April 13-14 and April 18-21. We will have 3 hunts each day (11am, 1pm, 3pm) organized by age.  Our Easter Bunny, Whiskers, will be available for some fun pictures!  We require each child sign up 30 minutes before each hunt starts.  No reservation is required, the cost is $14.00 per person; under 2 is free.  The cost includes the free hunt as well as our regular petting farm fun (cow milking, wagon ride, free goat feed, pig races).  Our farm opens at 9:30am during the week and opens 10:00am on the weekend.  We allow admissions until 4:00pm but we close at 5:00pm.

April 18-20 from 10:00am-12:00pm: Eggstravaganza! at Tudor Place
(1644 31st St NW, Washington, DC 20007)
Rolling green lawns, bobbing spring blooms, and the elegant mansion on a hill serve as backdrop for this festive annual attraction. Join the Easter Bunny and children of all ages for an Egg Hunt and thrilling Egg Roll Contest down the grand South Lawn. Decorate eggs, play games from the past, take photos with the Easter Bunny, and make the 5½-acre gardens your play space for the morning.Tudor Place Member Child: $10 | Non-Member Child (0-2): $15 | Non-Member Child (3-4): $15 | Non-Member Child (5-6): $15 | Non-Member Child (7+): $15 | Accompanying Adult: $5

April 19-21 (Various Times): The Lee-Fendall House 20th Annual Easter Egg Hunt

The museum’s garden will be filled with hundreds of colorful toy-filled Easter eggs! Other activities include games, crafts, refreshments, and photos with the Easter Bunny. All children of elementary school age or younger (children aged 0-12) are eligible to participate in the Easter Egg Hunt. Older children and adults are welcome to enjoy the other activities. Tickets are $15 for children aged 0-12, and $5 for all others.

Celebrate Spring with Tregaron Conservancy! Thousands of candy-filled eggs will be hidden along our woodland paths. We will have separate area for kids under five. The hunt will begin at 10:00 a.m. by the Lily Pond near the entrance to Tregaron at 3031 Klingle Road NW. Be sure to bring a bag or basket. RSVPs are appreciated (but not required) by email.

April 20 from 10:45am-12:00pm: 14th Annual Egg Hunt at Stead Park
(Stead Park, 1625 P Street, NW)
Join the Friends of Stead Park for the 14th Annual Egg Hunt at Stead Park for 3 hunts. Enjoy selfies with the Easter Bunny, crafts and snacks after your little ones have filled their baskets with eggs. Advance registration is recommended- Register here.

The bunny is making a special trip to Thomas Farm Community Center. Activities include a magic show, spring crafts, games, an opportunity to meet, greet and pose with the Bunny and an egg hunt. A light continental breakfast will be served. Bring your camera. Fee applies to each person attending.

March 24 at 11:00am-2:00pm: Arlandria Eggstravaganza
Back and better than ever. This annual free family friendly event is one of the most EGGciting spring events in the Alexandria/Arlington area. This years event features entertainment by the Rainbow Rock Band, Groovy Nate, and Uncle Devin. The day also features plenty of food, activities, and games for the whole family. Including  multiple egg hunts for children under 11 with a special area for those 3 and under.

March 24 11:00am & 3:00pm: Beester Eggstravaganza at Busy Bees Falls Church
It’s Time to Grab your Basket! Join us for our FUNTASTIC Beester Eggstravaganza with 2 separate hunts depending on age! Our Beester Egg Hunt includes:5 golden eggs. Enjoy a hayride down the Bunny Trail, race the Rubber Duck Derby, hunt for colorful eggs (we provide the basket!), exchange eggs for a goodie basket to take home, visit with the farm’s very own Country Bunny, ride pedal tractors, play in Hayromp and Playground, hop in inflatables, ride the giant slides, see bunnies, lambs and chicks, get your face painted and ride a pony. $9.50 per child and $7.50 per adult.

March 24, 30 & 31 from 10:00am-12:00pm– Eggstravaganza! at Tudor Place

Rolling green lawns, bobbing spring blooms, and the elegant mansion on a hill serve as backdrop for this festive annual attraction. Join the Easter Bunny and children of all ages for an Egg Hunt and thrilling Egg Roll Contest down the grand South Lawn. Decorate eggs, play games from the past, take photos with the Easter Bunny, and make the 5½-acre gardens your play space for the morning.

March 29, 30, 31 and April 1– Easter Egg Hunt at Green Meadows Petting Farm
(10102 Fingerboard Rd. Ijamsville, MD  21754)
The hunt is free and part of your farm admission. Admission includes hands-on with over three hundred animals including: goats, sheep, pigs, cows, horses, poultry, rabbits, our baby kangaroo, Bindi, and more! Also included is a tractor-drawn hayride, cow milking (and it’s real) in our Dairy Barn and FREE sheep and goat feed. They will have three (3) hunts each day for children ages 1 to 12. 

March 30, 31 and April 1– The Lee-Fendall House Easter Egg Hunt
(614 Oronoco Street Alexandria, VA)
The museum’s garden will be filled with hundreds of colorful toy-filled Easter eggs! Other activities include games, crafts, refreshments, and photos with the Easter Bunny. All children of elementary school age or younger (children aged 0-12) are eligible to participate in the Easter Egg Hunt. Older children and adults are welcome to enjoy the other activities. Tickets are $12 for children aged 0-12, and $5 for all others.

March 30– Meadowside Nature Center’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt
(5100 Meadowside Lane, Rockville, MD)
Search for real eggs in our meadow, then dye and decorate the eggs you find. Enjoy other spring themed activities throughout the event as well. Fun for the entire family! Don’t forget to bring a basket to collect your eggs. Reservations are required. March 31 from 10:30am-12:30pm– 13th Annual Egg Hunt at Stead Park

Join the Friends of Stead Park for the 13th Annual Egg Hunt at Stead Park for 3 hunts. Enjoy selfies with the Easter Bunny, crafts and snacks after your little ones have filled their baskets with eggs. Advance registration is recommended- Register here.

March 31 from 11:00am-1:00pm– Easter Egg Decorating Class at DBGB
This Easter weekend, round up the kids and bring them to our egg-stra special Easter Egg Decorating Class! On Saturday March 31st, Executive Pastry Chef Kelsey Burack will guide the little ones through a demonstration of dying eggs, decorating Easter-themed cupcakes, sugar cookies and cake pops. They will then take home a box of their sweet treats to share on Easter Sunday morning. And while the kids are busy decorating, we have some sweet treats and libations for the parents! Adults can enjoy our continental breakfast buffet, bottomless mimosas and Bloody Mary’s, included in the ticket price. $65 for 1 child + 1 parent*Sans tax and gratuity

March 31 from 12:00pm-3:00pm– Easter Eggstravaganza

The Easter Eggstravaganza is one of the most *EGGciting* Easter events in the area, this is a time for kids and families to come out and enjoy a fun-filled FREE event. There will be an Easter bunny, Easter Egg hunt, face painting, balloon animals, concessions, music, a moon bounce, games and much more! Come out and enjoy the festivities with us!

March 31-April 1 from 10:00am-5:00pm– Egg Hunt at Clark’s Elioak Farm
(10500 Clarksville Pike, Ellicott City, MD 21042)
Children of different ages (ages 1 to 3 and 4 to 6) will have a chance to hunt for eggs all day.  Our $6 per person admission fee for the farm applies, but there is no extra charge for the egg hunt. The petting farm, rides and play areas are open for you to enjoy. The eggs will then be turned in for a goodie bag. The petting farm, gem mining and rides will also be open on Easter Monday.

April 7 from 10:00am-11:30am– 7th Annual Egg Hunt at Tregaron Conservancy
(3000 block of Klingle Road, NW)
Search along the paths and woodlands for thousands of candy-filled eggs. BYO basket or bag. A separate hunting area will be set up for kids under the age of five. Donations in any amount — at the event or online — to support our free, year-round community programs will be gratefully accepted. Eggstravaganza 2014 in the Washington, DC area

Egg hunts galore! Whether it be a festival, farm or egg hunt (we’ve left brunch for you to figure out!) your child will have a blast and maybe even get to experience more than one of these events. Options begin Thursday and run through the weekend after Easter. Happy Easter!

April 17-19, 21 and 26-27: 19th Annual Bunnyland at Butler’s Orchard EasterFacePainting20121

Children ages 2 through 12 can search for real (hard-boiled) eggs hidden in the meadow, then dye and decorate the eggs they find. There will be other spring-related activities throughout the day, including bunny hat and frog puppet crafts, ‘egg’ games, live animals and a meet-and-greet with Otus the Owl mascot. Register in advance for the 30-minute hunting sessions. Admission: $8 per child.

April 18 10:30am: 7th Annual Eggstravaganza! at Tudor Place
(1644 31st St NW, Washington, DC 20007)

April 18: Bunny Breakfast and Train Ride at B & O Railroad Museum
Join us for our annual Easter Bunny breakfast buffet in the Roundhouse. Enjoy story time with Choo Choo Blue, the museum’s mascot, take a carousel ride, and have your photo taken with our guest of honor! April 19 7:30am-9:00am: Madame Tussauds Washington, D.C. Easter Egg Hunt

There is limited availability in each session, so please book fast! Once a session is full, no more tickets will be available for that time. So, if you are unable to attend the White House Easter Egg Roll, then come along and meet all 44 US Presidents and hunt for goodies along the way! Tons of eggs will be hidden throughout our Presidents Gallery. Once children have collected the empty eggs, they can then trade them in at the end of the hunt for an Easter gift bag full of fun goodies (1 per child). Admission is $25 for adults (13 and older) and free for children (12 and under). Price of admission will include FULL access to Madame Tussauds Washington, D.C., an Easter egg hunt through the Presidents Gallery, 1 gift bag per child, a meet & greet with the Easter Bunny, access to an on site petting zoo, and Easter storytelling and crafts! Bring the kids dressed in their Easter best to meet Peter Cottontail on the Train. Join the Easter parade of animals in a mad search for that hippity, hoppity Bunny. This hop down the rails includea face painting, singing and general merriment. 1.5 hour roundtrip. Departs Elkins Depot 11 am and 1 pm. Adult – $35, Children (Age 4 – 11) – $30, Under 4 – Free. Reserve your spots now.

April 19 11:00am-1:00pm: Stead Park’s 9th Annual Easter Egg Hunt easter-egg
(P St NW between 16th and 17th Sts)
Lindsay Reishman Real Estate and Friends of Stead Park are hosting an Easter Egg Hunt at Stead Park. There will be fun for children of all ages including face painting, balloons, toys and candy (in the eggs), and our special guest– The Easter Bunny! Bring your Easter Baskets and join us. We’re accepting egg donations, so please bring them before 10:30am on the day of the event so we have a chance to share them with the Easter Bunny. (500 and 700 blocks of 8th Street as well as the lawn at Hill Center)
Enjoy the newfound spring weather and bring the family to take part in Egg Hunt on 8th! Free baskets will be provided for children to go up and down 8th Street looking for a variety of eggs – including the prize winning Golden Egg. Ted’s Bulletin will be providing complimentary cookies and treats at the event table in front of their restaurant.

April 19 & 20 10:00am-5:00pm: Ticonderoga Farms – Spring Easter Festival
(26469 Ticonderoga Rd, Chantilly, VA)
Ticonderoga Farm’s Bunny will be joining everyone at the farm. Hopping around and posing for picture opportunities during our weekend hours and playing with our favorite friend Chickadee. Together hiding eggs for all the children to enjoy finding, especially the golden eggs that provide extra fun prizes for those who find them. Egg hunts will be held at 11:00am and 2:00pm. Cost is $11.95. Giant slides, mazes, animals, face painting and much more will be there!

April 20 8:00am: Rosedale Conservancy
(35th St NW and Newark Street NW, Cleveland Park)
The Rosedale Conservancy will host the 24th annual Easter Egg Hunt on Easter morning, Sunday, April 20th. Please bring your little ones armed with baskets. Meet at 8:00am at the Farmhouse, up the steps from the 35th and Newark Street gate.

April 20 12:00pm: Eggstravaganza 2014 at Walter Pierce Park
