10:00am: Museum of Natural History’s Butterfly Pavilion (2nd floor)

Every Tuesday at 10:00am you can get into the magnificent butterfly pavilion for free! Make sure and get a free ticket by the entrance. We visited this last month and were amazed by how many butterflies were flying around, some even landing on a shoulder. Look closely and you could spot a frog under some trees.

Book of the Month is: Who Stole My House by Barbara Veit and Anna Laura Cantone. “One day Little Snail finds that her house is missing! She asks everyone she meets if they have taken her beautiful house, but they all seem to have perfectly nice houses of their own. All’s well in the end when she discovers just who is responsible for her home’s disappearance!” Readings at 10:30 and 11:30 am.  FREE with admission to the Building Zone.  Drop-in program.  Recommended for ages 3 to 5. Hill Country BBQ is back this summer. Stop by for lunch after the story.

Children ages 3-5 and an adult companion are invited to use their imagination as they explore the paintings, sculpture, and architecture of The Kreeger Museum. Each program includes a gallery tour, analysis of works of art from the collection, a story and a hands-on art-making experience. Class size is limited to 10 children. Pre-registration is required. Payment due at time of registration. An adult must remain with the child throughout the program.

John Henry has a busy day! He’s back at our favorite summer concert series. Catch him every Thursday at BBM. Grab dinner inside the market and eat it while singing along to his catchy tunes or treat your bambino to an ice cream. A fun way to end the evening and if you’re little one isn’t ready to go home afterwards walk across the street to Lafayette Park and choose between the many playgrounds or fields to play on.

7:00pm: Campfire- Hawk Tales at Meadowside Nature Center

Spend your Thursday evenings at our campfire ring, roasting marshmallows and enjoying a naturalist-led program or movie. Register all participants; fee is for children only. Feel feathers, touch talons and see our resident red-tailed hawk up close. 3 and up/$5.

8:30pm/Sundown: Frozen (sing-along) at Movies on the Square

Movie begins around sundown/8:30pm. Bring a lawn chair and family and friends and join us under the stars for some of our favorite blockbusters.
