Washington Nationals will host Winterfest this weekend at The Convention Center. Test your skills at a variety of baseball attractions and game. Transform yourself into a human snowball in the Steal Home Challenge. Jump into a giant stocking and slide down the “The Slider”. Strike a pose at the life-size snow globe photo station. Take a photo with Santa. Donate a toy to a child in need*. And much, much more! Tickets are; Adults: $30 per ticket, Kids, ages 4-12: $20 per ticket, Kids, ages 3 & under: Free. Open to public 11:30am-4:00pm, other times for season ticket holders.

Ice! Featuring Santa Claus is Coming to Town is still going on at The Gaylord National Harbor. Guests can walk-through holiday attraction, kept at a chilly 9 degrees, marvel at two million pounds of hand-carved ice sculpture, have fun on five ice slides, walk and see the 7 individual rooms depicting the story of Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town and see The Frostbite Factory – a live carving zone.

Saturday-

10:00am-4:00pm: Annual Holiday Card Workshop at National Postal Museum
(2 Massachusetts Ave., N.E. Washington, DC 20002)
Kick-off the holiday season by creating heartfelt, one-of-a-kind handmade cards at the National Postal Museum! Use beautiful holiday stamps, from all over the world both to inspire your creativity and decorate your cards.In addition to stamps, a variety of craft supplies await you at the workshop. This fun event offers something for all ages who love arts & craft activities. Free event.

10:00am-5:00pm: Happy 35th Birthday National Building Museum?????

Open for all to visit our exhibitions for free. Join us for a LEGO® community build, in which families, visitors of all ages, and built environment professionals are welcome to build and rebuild a collective structure over the day. There will also be a giveaway of special treats (limited quantities) for Museum members to enjoy! 

4:00pm-7:00pm: Winter’s Eve at Glen Echo
(7300 MacArthur Blvd. Glen Echo, MD. 20812)
Get into the holiday spirit at Glen Echo Park’s annual Winter’s Eve celebration!  It’s FREE, open to the public, and visitors of all ages will enjoy: The holiday craft rooms are located in the Arcade Building where parents and children of all ages will enjoy a variety of fun crafts, including:Salt dough ornaments, Fanciful Skier decoration, Candy cane mouse, Decorate your own gift bag, Snowman decoration. Also in the Arcade Building, and just for this special night, the Partnership will transform one of our classrooms into a hot cocoa bar offering hot chocolate and fresh popcorn.

5:00pm-6:00pm: Holiday ZooLights Crafts

Put some extra sparkle in your family’s ZooLights outing by making holiday animal-themed crafts together! You’ll even make your own bag to tote all your treasures home! For ages 2-12/

Sunday-

9:00am-10:30am or 11:30am-1:00pm: Holiday Zoo Crafts at The National Zoo
(3001 Connecticut Ave. NW Washington, DC 20008)
Bring your little panda lover to the Zoo this Sunday morning for “Holiday Zoo Crafts,” a preschool class for 3-5 year olds! You and your child will have zoo-dles of fun making original animal-themed crafts for the holidays, like a panda snow globe and a hibernating bear card. Then we’ll take some time to learn about bears and some of our other favorite winter animals. Zoo Classes use crafts, hands-on activities, and the Zoo’s animal collection to help your child learn about environmental conservation and life science while building important developmental and social skills. Pre-registration is required.

10:00am-10:45am: Sunday Fun-Day at Imagination Stage

We invite you and your child to bring your favorite stories to life through dramatic play activities, movement, music, and visual art. Each session you leave with a completed craft, as well as a Parent Pack to extend the experience at home. These popular workshops are themed around beloved children’s books. Activities in Sunday Fun-Day are most appropriate to 3-5 year-olds but 1-2 year-old siblings and friends are also welcome! Snowy Day is the story this weekend. $8 per person.

10:00am-12:00pm: Chanukah Celebration at DCJCC
(1529 16th St NW, Washington, DC 20036)
Grab your socks and your yarmulke, it’s time to bounce for Chanukah. This year’s rockin’ Chanukah party will feature a moon bounce, games, crafts, treats and plenty of fun for the whole family. Pre-registration is not required but you’ll receive a discount by doing so.

santa4:00pm-8:00pm: Pictures with Santa at The Courtyard Marriott Navy Yard
(140 L Street SE, Washington, DC, 20003)
Come celebrate the holidays with Santa, Olaf, Sven, and more! Each family will receive a picture with Santa time when they arrive, and then can head upstairs to hang out with his friends, enjoy jumpers, activities, cookies, hot cocoa, and more! This is a free event you won’t want to miss, and each family will bring home two 5×7 photos of their picture with Santa. Hosted by Waterfront Church.
