Indoor fun today throughout DMV

Brrrr it’s cold outside!!! Escape the frigid temps and take your bambino indoors. Here are a few places in the DMV that are sure to make everyone in your family happy (and warm) while getting their energy out.

DC-
Play is not only for kids at the National Building Museum in the Play, Work, Build exhibit. You can  choose a tactile experience with the small or large blocks, the virtual block-play experience, or all of the activities, you are encouraged to participate in unstructured, imaginative play that exercises muscles and minds. Buy tickets for the Building Zone, intended for children ages 2-6. Children can build a tower or brick wall, curl up with an architecture picture book in the Book Nook, drive bulldozers and other construction play trucks in the Construction Zone and imagine being a craftsperson complete with a hard hat, tool belt, and goggles. The museum is such a great place to go and it helps the architecture of the actual building is magnificent, and there is a coffee shop! Hours are 10:00am-4:00pm and is right across from the Judiciary Square Metro (Red Line), located at 401 F Street NW.

VA-
Rebounderz (Sterling, Va.)- Opens at 12:00pm today. YOU and the family can bounce together on enormous trampolines equipped with walls, which are intended to bounce off of! Jump into foam pits! Rebounderz also have a video arcade and snack bar, need to get some work done while your kids play? They have wifi. If you can’t make it today be sure and check out their Daily Dealz for weekday specials.

MD- The National Children’s Museum (National Harbor, MD) – Opens at 11:00am today. The museum includes a firetruck, a Tanzanian marketplace,  tunnels, toys, and a “food truck”. NCM is partnered with Sesame Workshop, and as part of the partnership, SesameStreet and its characters extend the Workshop’s educational mission with a significant presence in the museum. There are often frequent performances throughout the day. Admission costs $10 for everyone over 12 months of age. A perfect cure for cabin fever!

If all else fails and your little one insists on going outside to play. Check out Huffington Posts article on the best sledding hills in our area. Battery Kemble is our favorite from the list. Stay warm!
