The Nutcracker on Strings at The Puppet Co. at Glen Echo: Nov. 25-Jan. 1

Holiday Sing-A-Long at Wolf Trap: Dec. 3
Kick off the holiday season with family and friends at Wolf Trap’s Annual Holiday Sing-A-Long! The Christmas Revels: Celtic Crossroads: Dec. 10-11 & 16-18
Join Washington Revels to celebrate the season with rousing carol sing-alongs—including a rollicking “Twelve Days of Christmas,” a new “old” Mummers play featuring characters from many traditions, and dancing in the aisles with our multigenerational cast of 80. Enjoy songs of the Old World and new by local favorites the Whiskey Before Breakfast Band; the Highland pipes, great and small; and the majestic sounds of the Washington Revels Brass.

The Mini-Nut at Montgomery College: Dec. 10-11
The Mini-Nut is MYB’s abbreviated version of The Nutcracker geared towards younger audiences. This one hour version is a great introduction to ballet for our youngest theatre goers. The performance is approximately one hour long with no intermission. A perfect holiday mini-treat!

A Muppet Christmas Carol at the Kennedy Center: Dec. 11
Join the Kennedy Center for a FREE film screening in the Justice Forum at the REACH. The Muppets perform the classic Dickens holiday tale, with Kermit the Frog playing Bob Cratchit, the put-upon clerk of stingy Ebenezer Scrooge (Michael Caine).

Postmodern Jukebox: A Very Postmodern Christmas at Strathmore: Dec. 13
Since Scott Bradlee began Postmodern Jukebox out of a basement in Queens in 2011, the project has grown to become a pop culture mainstay. Spinning modern hits into vintage tunes, Postmodern Jukebox introduces audiences around the world to some of the greatest singers, dancers, and musicians on the scene. You may recognize them from such viral arrangements as their 1950s bandstand version of Radiohead’s “Creep,” with over 105 million views on YouTube.

Ballet Theatre of Ukraine Presents: Swan Lake at Strathmore: Dec. 14
Swan Lake is the most famous ballet of classical heritage. His theatrical fate vividly illustrates all the significant aesthetic and artistic changes that the 20th-century ballet theater has undergone. Tchaikovsky’s masterpiece attracted the attention of many choreographers in the world.

Celebrated Baroque authority Fabio Biondi and four exceptional singers make their NSO debuts at our joyous holiday tradition! Experience all of the hope, redemption, and grace of Handel’s masterwork in the festively decorated Concert Hall as Biondi conducts an intimate performance of Messiah the way it was premiered in Dublin, 1742.

An Irish Carol at Keegan Theatre: Dec. 15-31
An original work by Keegan favorite Matthew J. Keenan, AN IRISH CAROL is an homage to Dickens’ classic – told as only the Irish can. This comic and touching play, set in a modern Dublin pub, follows one evening in the life of David, a wealthy pub owner who has lost touch with his own humanity in the interest of self-protection and material success. But on this Christmas Eve – challenged by a voice from the past, provoked by those in the present, and faced with the reality of a lonely future – David’s life may change forever.

This holiday mash-up is back by popular demand and celebrating its 10th anniversary season! Join Maria-Clara and the Nutcracker Prince as they set off for a magical adventure…in modern day New York City. The Hip Hop Nutcracker features Tchaikovsky’s classic score punched up by all-star contemporary and hip-hop dancers, a DJ, a violinist, and Kurtis Blow, one of hip-hop’s founding fathers, who opens the show with a short set. Innovative visual effects transform the landscape of E.T.A. Hoffmann’s beloved story from traditional 19th century Germany to the vibrant, diverse sights and sounds of modern urban life. Gospel Christmas: The Light Has Come at National Cathedral: Dec. 23
The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it. Hear the good news as it comes to life in our annual service of gospel Christmas music, poetry, and readings from Holy Scripture. Canon Theologian Kelly Brown Douglas delivers the homily.

7:00pm: Inside Out Movie at President Lincoln’s Cottage
Join for a free film screening on the lawn of Lincoln’s summer residence. Among other things, the Lincoln family came to the Cottage to relax and enjoy each other’s company, and you are invited to do the same. Bring a picnic (or popcorn) and sit back!

7:30pm: Día de los Muertos at The Kennedy Center:
Celebrate the Mexican holiday, el día de los muertos, the day of the dead, with a concert dedicated to music by Mexican composers, conducted by NOW’s Artistic Director Alejandro Hernandez-Valdez, a native of Guadalajara, Mexico.

Saturday

9:00am-1:00pm: Open Streets: Tenleytown
The final Open Streets of the year will take place on Ward 3’s Wisconsin Avenue, where one mile will be closed to cars and open to people to bike, walk, scoot, and play in a reimagining of public space. Explore all the amenities that Friendship Heights and Tenleytown have to offer and be sure to participate in a fitness or yoga class in one of our activation zones at no cost! Popular programming will return this fall, including arts and crafts, live music, safety demonstrations, and more. The event is free and suitable for people of ALL ages and abilities.

10:00am-5:00pm: Pumpkin Chunkin’ at Great Country Farms
Bring your leftover jack-o-lantern to our smashin’ stations and let it fly! The Silo Drop and the Zip Wire Sploosh let you do the smashin’ yourself or bring your pumpkin to the Pumpkin Drop Zone and add it to our upside down “fireworks display” as the pumpkins are dropped from a 40ft lift. You will be sure to love giving your pumpkin one final ride. What happens to all those smashed pumpkins?… the pigs and cows love to eat them and we compost the rest.

10:00am-4:00pm: 16th Annual Parade of Trabants at The Spy Museum
Join us for the ONLY Trabant Rally in the United States! Celebrate the anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall at this festive gathering of the quintessential Cold War car—the Trabant. Despite their questionable performance and smoky two-stroke engines, these little cars are now affectionately regarded as a symbol of East Germany and the fall of Communism.

10:00am-1:00pm: Maker Morning at Hirshhorn
Think inside and outside the box with us in this Maker Morning exploring installation! Have you ever seen an artwork that covers an entire room (sometimes including the floors!)? Large artworks, often with many different parts that are set up in a place, are called installations. Join us for Maker Morning: Installation Creation to check out the many installations on view at the museum, collaborate and create our own larger than life artwork!

11:00am-4:00pm: The Big Build at the National Building Museum
All ages are invited to The Big Build, a FREE hands-on festival exploring a wide variety of unique, interactive activities with roofers, plumbers, home remodelers, construction workers, carpenters, designers, and artisans.

5:30pm-8:30pm: Side Yards at The Yards
Guests are invited to enjoy contortionists, magicians, escape artists, sword swallowers, aerialists, lollipop lyra performers and other spook-tacular performances. Attendees are also able to take part in interactive activities including tarot card and palm reading, balloon artistry, and glitter tattoos, and warm up with hot cocoa and bites from Agua 301 and Due South Dockside. Air Play – November 4-6
Umbrellas fly, fabrics soar over the audience, balloons swallow people, and snow swirls, filling the stage. Air Play transforms ordinary objects into uncommon beauty through a wordless, magical adventure as two siblings journey through a surreal land of air. Created by circus performers Seth Bloom and Christina Gelsone in collaboration with kinetic sculptor Daniel Wurtzel, this enchanting spectacle combines comedy, live sculpture, circus, and theater to fill both the young and young at heart with wonder.

S.P.I.E.S. 2 – Through November 20
Join S.P.I.E.S. in person, where it is more interactive than ever! This follow-up to the online hit S.P.I.E.S. & the Lost Treasure of Atlantis combines live theatre and taped adventure scenes to create a collaborative and exciting experience where each audience gets to be the hero and solve the puzzles–and no two performances are alike.

Creepy Climb at Summit Ropes: Weekends October 7th – 31st
A nighttime haunted house filled with spooky creatures and scary heights. Explore the darkened world of Summit Ropes like you’ve never experienced before. The Ropes Course transforms into a scary world of zombies, goblins, ghouls, and ghosts.

Witch Wartsmith’s Halloween Spooktacular at The Puppet Co: through October 31

Eye Spy Halloween Trains: through October 30
Halloween Eye Spy Train event returns in October. Online tickets are now available for purchase. Tickets are $6 each and our train will be running every weekend in October from 11am to 6pm, weather permitting of course. Purchase tickets for Cabin John’s Eye Spy Trains or Wheaton’s Eye Spy Trains.

Halloween Hunt at The Mansion on O Street: October 14 -31
Decorated for Halloween just for this hunt – come celebrate the BOO season on this zany treasure hunt. Have fun searching for Autumn & Halloween themed items found only at The Mansion. Prizes additional. There are over 100 rooms and 70 secret doors (yes 70!). They guarantee you can see at least 60 of our legendary rooms — but be warned secret doors are tricky to find — if you find 2 or 3 you are an above average sleuth.

DPR Halloween Events: October 19-31

Soul Strolls: Twighlight Tours at Congressional Cemetery: October 21-22
Trespass into the past and discover the secrets of some of Congressional Cemetery’s “residents.” Soul Strolls, the Cemetery’s annual twilight tours, explore the stories of individuals buried here through guided tours and costumed interpreters. Experience the history of this hallowed ground exactly the way it should be experienced in October – in twilight and darkness, happening upon vignettes and individuals under the guidance of one of our own. Soul Strolls take place over four nights, October 14-15 and October 21-22. Hour-long tours depart every 15 minutes between 6pm and 9:30pm.

The Pumpkin Patch Express at B&O Railroad: October 22-23 & 28-31
Join us for a ride to the First Mile Stable as passengers deboard for photo ops and pumpkin decorating. Come as you are or in your best Halloween costume to match the décor onsite. There will even be an opportunity to meet the horses and enjoy autumn snacks before boarding the train back to the Museum.

Mystery Mansion: October 21, 22, 23, 28, 29 & 30
A ten-room haunted house packed with chills, thrills, and a smidge of Maryland history, Mystery Mansion has scares that are just right for younger children. This is a 100% “No Contact” haunted house! Older students and adults will enjoy the stories, special effects, and devious characters. If you are 10 years or older (no exceptions) you can visit The Crypt, a slightly scarier experience for those who dare. Before and after Mystery Mansion, enjoy Bonfire Bash! Bonfire Bash is a Fall Festival with fire pits, Halloween movies, live entertainment, food, beer & wine, face painting, and s’mores! Mystery Mansion & Bonfire Bash take place at 7931 Connecticut Avenue, one mile inside the beltway. Free parking is available behind the club house. Tickets are available now on the web site.

It’s Halloween in DC and DPR is hosting events in all eight wards this 2022 Halloween season!

Grief and Ghost Tours at Lee-Fendall House: October 21, 22, 28, & 29
Explore Victorian mourning traditions coupled with stories of tragic deaths and mysterious occurrences at the Lee-Fendall House. Customs such as draping the mirrors after a death, funeral practices, hair jewelry, mourning clothing, and séances will be explored. These tours offer a rare opportunity to see the house after dark! Tours will be offered every half an hour starting 7:00 with the last tour at 9:00 PM. Tickets are $15 per person. Tours will be limited to 12 participants and tickets must be purchased in advance. Face masks are recommended.

My Gym Halloween Party: October 21 4:00pm-4:45pm and 5:00pm-5:45pm
Looking for not too spooky family fun this Halloween? Find it at My Gym’s Halloween Party! Join for circle time, games, costume parade, and loads of fun! Each child leaves with a My Gym Halloween treat. Book your spot today! Must sign up ahead of time.

Kids Night Out at Confetti: October 21 from 5:30-8:00pm
A fun-filled Halloween I SCREAM Party (drop-off) for 1st-6th graders! Your child will enjoy an evening full of creating memories with friends, pizza, age-appropriate Halloween games, a costume contest, a glow-in-the dark dance party and, of course, ice cream!

Halloween in the Garden: October 22 from 10:00am-4:00pm
Join us for a family-friendly Halloween festival at our beautiful 30-acre park. With timed-entry tickets and activities spread across the park, there will be lots of room for everyone. More than 50 local businesses and organizations will be here handing out treats for the kids, plus there will be fun and games, a DJ dance party, food trucks, and more! This first-ever festival will feature fun family-oriented activities like a scavenger hunt, pumpkin painting and lawn games like corn hole will be accompanied by local bluegrass band, The High and Wides. Festival goers can also purchase food from José Andrés’ Pepe Food truck.

Fall Frolic at Lee-Fendall House: October 22 from 10:00am-4:00pm
Enjoy some fall themed family fun in the garden of the Lee-Fendall House during our Fall Frolic event! Join us for activities catered to children ages 3-12. Activities include a “ghost” hunt, crafts, a costume parade, and more! Timed tickets must be purchased in advance. Sessions start at 10:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 12:00 PM, 1:00 PM, 2:00 PM, and 3:00 PM and are limited to 20 children each. Tickets are $15 per participating child ages 2-12. Accompanying adults are $5 each and infants under 2 are free.

Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo: Mexican Geniuses: November 2
Celebrate Día de los Muertos surrounded by the artwork of two of Mexico’s most celebrated artists – Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo. Mexican Geniuses, the immersive experience celebrating this iconic duo, will host an all day Dia de los Muertos celebration honoring the symbolic relationship between the living and the dead with programming for families in the morning, and an adult fiesta in the evening.

Celebrate the Mexican holiday, el día de los muertos, the day of the dead, with a concert dedicated to music by Mexican composers, conducted by NOW’s Artistic Director Alejandro Hernandez-Valdez, a native of Guadalajara, Mexico.

Guests are invited to enjoy contortionists, magicians, escape artists, sword swallowers, aerialists, lollipop lyra performers and other spook-tacular performances. Celebrate our nation’s independence at the home of the father of our country. Meet George Washington, watch made-for-daytime fireworks, observe a moving ceremony in which candidates from across the world become U.S. citizens, listen to 18th-century music in the upper garden and watch and learn about flying hot air balloons in the 18th century. Lastly, watch a musical performance by the National Concert Band.

The National Archives marks the 246th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence with its traditional Fourth of July program in person! Highlights include welcoming remarks by Acting Archivist of the United States Debra Steidel Wall, a variety of educational and family-friendly interactive programs with historical figures and Archives educators, and a lively, patriotic reading of the Declaration of Independence emceed by WUSA9 News Anchor Allison Seymour. The parade will start at Ida Lee Park, travel down King Street and conclude at Fairfax Street. Put on your patriotic best and join your friends and neighbors to celebrate the birthday of the United States! This year’s parade will also feature the 14th annual Patriot’s Cup Competition, sponsored by the Loudoun Now newspaper. This award will go to the best parade entry; winners’ names will be engraved on the Patriot Cup, which will be on display at Town Hall.

11:45am: National Independence Day Parade
The Parade consists of invited bands, fife and drum corps, floats, military and specialty units, giant balloons, equestrian, drill teams, VIP’s, national dignitaries, and celebrity participants. The celebration surrounds the Historic Downtown train depot, the Harris Pavilion and the Manassas Museum. There will be great rides for the kids starting at 3 p.m, The rest of the fun, face painter, caricature artist, food concessions and novelty vendors will begin at 4 p.m. Come participate in the Watermelon Eating contest, Bike decorating contest and Pie baking contest. Be sure to bring your lawn chairs and blankets and come early to get the best seats on the Manassas Museum Lawn for the firework display at 9:15 p.m.!

This exhibition honors Kusama’s distinctive vision of self-obliteration by exploring its development across media while also underscoring the Museum’s mission: to present the most exciting art and ideas of our time. Passes will be distributed on the Hirshhorn’s plaza every open day beginning at 9:30 am until all the day’s passes have been claimed. Each person over the age of 12 may claim up to two passes, based on availability.

Last night was a doozy of an opening night for the Nats as the time was changed followed by a rain delay and then a loss, nonetheless GO NATS!! Washington Nationals are in town all weekend.

7:45pm-9:30pm: The Yards Movie Night: The Lorax
The Yards has partnered with the Capitol Riverfront BID for a free screening of the Lorax on Friday, April 8 in Yards Park in honor of Earth Month! Don’t forget to bring chairs and blankets and to stop by your favorite Yards restaurant to pick up dinner for a picnic under the stars! Ticket options include a $5 donation to the Anacostia Watershed Society in honor of Earth Month and The Yards’ first-ever Green Guide campaign. Lawn space is available on first-come-first-serve basis. No alcohol is permitted.

Saturday
10:00am-12:00pm: National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade
One of DC’s largest spectator events is back in 2022! The energy-filled Parade runs for 10 blocks along iconic Constitution Avenue Northwest. Grand colorful helium balloons, elaborate floats, marching bands from across the country, celebrity entertainers, and performers burst down the Parade route in a spectacle of music and showmanship seen only once a year during the Festival!

10:00am-3:00pm: Japanese Culture Day at Library of Congress
Children of all ages, families and teachers can learn about Japanese culture through reading, writing and craft-making with Japanese cultural and linguistic professionals during the Library’s Japanese Culture day. Books related to Japan and Japanese culture will also be on display. Special highlights include a Japanese drum presentation by Miyako Taiko led by Mark Rooney and a karate demonstration by Tsuyoshi Takemori from D.C. Yamato-juku Club.

10:00am & 11:15am: Mother Goose at Imagination Stage
Humpty Dumpty, Old King Cole, the Itsy Bitsy Spider, and more come to life through adorably engaging puppets and props. The magical Mother Goose invites your little ones to join in with each rhyme’s story. Mother Goose is best for ages 1-5.

10:30am-6:00pm: Sakura Matsuri- Japanese Street Festival
See, hear, taste, and experience Japan when you join Japan-America Society of Washington DC for the 60th Anniversary of the Sakura Matsuri – Japanese Street Festival. Held downtown on Pennsylvania Ave., Sakura Matsuri – Japanese Street Festival is the largest one-day celebration of Japanese culture in the United States and is proud to be the grand finale of the National Cherry Blossom Festival. Every year, performers, artists, and restaurants travel from across the country and around the world to Washington, DC to share their love of Japanese culture and traditions with the Festival attendees. From the Ginza Marketplace to the Japan Now! pavilion, Sakura Matsuri is a celebration of everything Japan has to offer, and in 2022 we are excited to announce that the festival will be held over two days for the very first time.

11:00am & 1:30pm: NSO Music for Young Audiences: Super Cello! (World Premiere)
Music to the rescue! The city is safe with the help of a unique cellist: professional musician by day, superhero by night. SCOTTIE ROWELL of Atlanta’s TELLER PRODUCTIONS and NSO cellist DAVID TEIE unite to tell a fantastic story using puppets, props, and plenty of music to help a very super musician save the day. Sunday, April 10 at 4pm is a sensory friendly performance. Most enjoyed by 3+.

This complimentary family and community event will explore the causes and effects of climate change and help you and your family learn how to have a role in reducing its impact on your community and the world. Designed for all ages, NBM Climate Day will offer essential information and hands-on, interactive activities for the whole family led by architects, landscape architects and builders that show new ways that they are addressing climate change. Free, drop in. No registration required. All ages welcome.

12:00pm-3:00pm: Cherry Blossom Festival Jubilee
Celebrate the Cherry Blossoms during the height of the National Cherry Blossom Festival. After Saturday’s Cherry Blossom Parade in D.C., stop by the heart of Alexandria the next day to enjoy cherry blossom-themed activities and other events. Kick off the celebrations at noon with a live performance by taiko drum group Nen Daiko by the Waterfront entrance. Afterward, view cherry-blossom-inspired works of art throughout studios and galleries on all three floors. Enjoy music and live art demonstrations from participating TFAC artists.

1:00pm-4:00pm: Anacostia River Festival
The Anacostia River Festival is a premier event of the National Cherry Blossom Festival. The eighth annual festival is a celebration of Anacostia River, Park, and Neighborhood. The festival will present a series of musical performances from a main stage honoring the history and sounds of communities on both sides of the Anacostia River and amplifying the stories, culture, and heritage of neighboring African American residents.

A visit to Planet Word Museum

Planet Word Museum has become a favorite DC museum for our family. Planet Word will inspire and renew a love of words, language, and reading in people of all ages. Through unique, immersive learning experiences, they provide a space to explore words and language that is grounded in a solid understanding of language arts and science. You can read about the current exhibits here. See our sneak peek above which we also posted on Instagram. A few of our families favorite parts of the museum are the magical library, karaoke for one of my Bambinos, and the humor gallery for another Bambino. There is a 22-foot-tall wall of words called Where Do Words Come From? which dives into the story of the English language as well as the origin of many of the most commonly used words which I watched over and over.

17 family friendly places in Georgetown

Georgetown is not just a college town, it is home to many families. We’ve rounded up the best places to take your Bambinos whether it be for a sweet treat, playground or class. Many immediately think of shopping along M Street but in this guide there is no shopping involved just great things to do with your kids!

1. Georgetown Waterfront Park stretches along the banks of the Potomac River from 31st Street, NW to the Key Bridge. The park is best known for the labyrinth, fountain (pack swim shoes and suits), and rain gardens. Be sure and walk to the waters edge where you will find ducks along the banks begging for food and you may be lucky enough to see the Georgetown Crew team practicing. Your Bambinos will also get plenty of chances to watch airplanes soar overhead.

2. Skip the crowded cobblestone of M Street and walk, bike or run the C&O Canal towpath.

3. Tudor Place is a historical landmark, completed in 1816, lived in by six generations of a single family, and opened to the public in 1988. It is located at 1644 31st Street NW., Washington DC 20007. They offer programs for families, adults, camps and more.

4. Dumbarton Oaks boasts 53 acres in the middle of Washington, DC. A great place to wander for an hour or spend the afternoon relaxing in but be sure to come at all seasons to see the change in beauty. There is an indoor Museum as well.

5. Anna Banana Arts + Crafts is dedicated to teaching and encouraging the artistic process. Children learn about The Masters such as Picasso, Matisse, van Gogh and Lichtenstein. Art mediums such as painting, print making, sculpture and photography are presented in a child-friendly manner. Sign up for a class or camp!

6. Pinstripes Bowling + Bocce is a chic bowling alley and bocce ball courts. Monday-Thursday kids enjoy $5 kids meals and $1/hour gaming with the purchase of an adult entree.

7. Hinkley Pottery has a variety of kids and teenager pottery classes.

8. The Georgetown Public Library is beautiful and boasts an amazing kids section on the lowest level. There are plenty of free programming to take advantage of. Before leaving, grab a book and head outside to Book Hill Park take in a panoramic view of Georgetown, the Potomac River, and Virginia beyond.

9. There are several playgrounds, parks and even a public pool in Georgetown. A few of them are; Rose Park + Farmers Market, Montrose Park & Volta Park + Farmers Market, Volta Park public pool

10. Paddle the Potomac from the Thompson Boat Center or Key Bridge Boathouse.

11. Boomerang Pirate Ship is an opportunity to sail down the Potomac while your lads and lasses have the time of their lives with face painting, music, dancing, games and more.

12. Thomas Sweet opened in 1979 and is the place to go for ice cream and sweet treats.

13. Baked & Wired is a coffee shop with decadent cupcakes and sweet treats. My order: Vanilla cupcake with vanilla icing (sounds boring, but trust me). Hands-down the best cupcake in DC. This transcends the hype of cupcakes.

14. The Escape Game offers themed rooms you work collaboratively to unlock. The recommend age is 13 and up at this location.

15. Walk around Georgetown University campus and take in the stunning buildings which date back to 1789.

16. There are several playgroups for the youngest Bambinos. Volta Park Co-Op, Blue Igloo Playgroup, InTown Playgroup + Rose Park Co-Op.

17. In winter, you can ice skate at the Washington Harbour just around the corner from the Waterfront Park.

Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience in Washington, DC

Washington, DC is one of the lucky cities that get to host the Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience, a hot pop-up showing up in select cities and selling out fast! If this is your first “immersive” experience, do not fear, it really is calm and can be enjoyed if you are 2 or 92. Set in a large warehouse space at the Rhode Island Center, you get to witness the magical and beautiful works of Vincent Van Gogh from floor to two-story ceilings and 360-degree. The whole experience takes about an hour and a half, but if you have smaller children with shorter attention spans, you may be running through it faster than you normally would prefer. The first rooms you enter are more of your typical museum setting with some background on the artist and his art, but it’s mixed with some high-tech non-typical eye catching digital displays. You also get to experience a few life size replicas of paintings including Van Gogh’s “The Bedroom,” where you can actually walk into the art and sit on the bed.

The main event though is the largest room with the digital show display covering every inch of the space with beautiful music (though it could be loud for the youngest kids or those with sound sensitivities). There are bean bags, lounge chairs and benches to relax on with no bad seat. Kids are entertained by the art fluttering on the floor and moving on the walls, but the youngest fans probably won’t be able to stay the entire length of the show. It really is magical to be completely surrounded by famous works like “Starry Night” and “Irises” in this new way where the stars are actually twinkling or the flowers are moving as if in the wind.

You then step into a room where adults and kids alike get to test out their Van Gogh skills with coloring pages that can then be scanned and projected on the wall in a frame. For an extra fee, you can enjoy a “virtual reality experience” that puts you into Van Gogh’s world and paintings just by wearing a headset. A gift shop welcomes you at the end with plenty of “Starry Night” printed trinkets to take home.

Details: The exhibit runs from August 2021 to January 2022.
