John Leguizamo’s Latin History for Morons at National Theatre + GIVEAWAY

November 9, 2019

Fresh off its Tony-nominated hit Broadway run, Tony Award winner John Leguizamo’s one-man play LATIN HISTORY FOR MORONS is inspired by the near total absence of Latinos from his son’s American history books. Known as modern theatre’s most prolific Latino playwright, Leguizamo embarks on an outrageously funny, frenzied search to find a Latin hero for his son’s school history project. From a mad recap of the Aztec empire to stories of unknown Latin patriots of the Revolutionary War and beyond, Leguizamo breaks down the 3,000 years between the Mayans and Pitbull into 110 irreverent and uncensored minutes above and beyond his unique style. Don’t miss the show The New York Times calls “a surprisingly poignant one-man play that slyly poses sharp and timely questions of what culturally defines American identity and who, in the nationalistic age of Trump, has ‘the right’ to be here.”

Recommended for ages 13 and up. Run time: Approximately 1 hour, 50 minutes, no intermission

John Leguizamo’s Latin History for Morons will be at National Theatre Thursday, Nov. 21 – Saturday, Nov. 23, 2019. Tickets can be purchased here.

GIVEAWAY: Tag a friend to bring to the show on our Instagram post, you can enter more than once but you both must be following Beltway Bambinos page! Winner will be announced November 15, 2019.

Will your tree go through the rigorous training to become a bonsai or will you plant it outdoors in spring to grow up wild, big and free?  Be sure to bring warm coats since we will be in an open exhibit area for part of the workshop. This activity is not recommended for participants under the age of 8, and is geared to children in the third and fourth grades. Due to limited classroom space, strollers can’t be accommodated. Books, toys, puzzles, dolls, trucks, art, and games will keep them busy and entertained. Through interactive stations, energetic team games, and silly GoNoodle songs, kids in grades K-5 will develop their teamwork skills. Most kids love a challenge, especially when they are cheered on and encouraged by our friendly leaders. We want your kids to walk away from this experience knowing how to respectfully cooperate with others, even when they have different ideas or opinions. $10 per session (dates in February, March and April also)
