5:30pm: Joanie Leeds & The Nightlights at AMP powered by Strathmore
As one of America’s top nationally touring kindie rock bands, Brooklyn-based Joanie Leeds & The Nightlights has played for thousands of families across the country. Leeds began her career in the club scene in New York, but she was inspired by the unbridled and unadulterated joy of children. She wanted to write music that reflected that sense of carefree adventure. On her latest release, Brooklyn Baby!, she celebrates equality, healthy eating, education, and love with a fun, silly twist.

6:00pm: Target Family Night: “Callaloo: The Trickster and the Magic Quilt“
Join the Callaloo Kids ensemble at The Kennedy Center as they adventure to the Gullah Sea Islands in search of a long lost patch for Zoe’s grandmother’s quilt. Celebrating African-Diaspora folklore, this performance includes puppetry, drumming, and storytelling for the entire family to enjoy.
